This competition aimed, drawing from the knowledge and skills fostered by the ISOB Workshops — but not exclusively — to activate a functional, social, and symbolic dimension in public space for the discussion of the right to the city and the right to community, as principles of dignified urbanism in self-produced areas.

Inspired by the ideas of writer and activist Helena Silvestre, two conceptual lines were established:

Right to the city – The collective right to remain, transform, and manage urban space in a democratic manner, recognizing local knowledge and resisting commodification and forced displacement.

Right to community – The right to belong, to weave bonds, and to assert ways of life that resist the fragmentation imposed by the capital city, recognizing that community is not a remnant of the past, but a force for the future.
